Just place at the start of Presolana ridge in a quite location you can have towards the best dishes of Orobie ... Easy walking to, right middle mark for longer trekking ...
Refuge set in a wonderful position with a fantastic view of the Presolana. Non-trivial refuge to reach with paths that wind from different and all challenging points. Very nice managers. Simple but well thought out menu. All very neat and clean. The shirts with the refuge logo are very nice. Same thing for magnets.
Nice refuge and reachable after a long and satisfying walk but rude staff, kitchen closed already at 3 in the afternoon (never happened in other refuges), we also asked for Wi-Fi in the absence of camp to check the path but we were told no be there, too bad that the POS was connected via Wi-Fi at the time of payment. Finally we ask for a possible overnight stay in case we found the bivouac full and we are told that they do not accept overnight stays... at this point I wonder why they don't define themselves only as a restaurant.
Beautiful CAI refuge, a real refuge!
Beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and great view. We arrived in about 2 hours (fast!) from Rusio, a simple path (just right except for a slightly slippery stretch due to damp terrain) and decidedly panoramic in the last hour.
Bring cash and change because there is no telephone line at the refuge and the manager does not always have the right change!
Highly recommended excursion.
The Olmo Refuge is located in an enviable position in front of the Presolana.
Few dishes but good and plentiful, excellent and smiling service.
Separate waste collection is certainly a plus even if plastic cups are still distributed.
I went up to the Olmo da Rusio refuge with a fairly easy walk of about 2 and a half hours (also doable with children).
⛰️ The refuge is located in an interesting position, sunny and immersed in the peace of nature.
I haven't had lunch at the refuge, but I can say with certainty that the desserts are really good 😌🥧
I reached it from the Presolana pass, passing by the Cassinelli hut. Very panoramic and spectacular path as it passes through the scree beneath the walls of the Presolana. It requires familiarity and a bit of training but it is absolutely worth it.
Excellent refuge, beautiful and well looked after.
Two problems: the location slightly below the intersection of the two main paths and the lack of fountains outside
